Why Can't We Be Friends?

What's up with everyone suing everyone else over completely ridiculous things? I saw this article when looking through google news today.

Some of the more interesting (or ridiculous) lawsuits being filed against celebrities:
  • Lady Gaga is being sued for $35 million by songwriter and former boyfriend Rob Fusari, who claims he was instrumental in Gaga's development as an artist. Sure, he could have been inspiration, but who's to say that he deserves money because of that?
  • Simon Monjack, the husband of late actress Brittany Murphy, is suing Warner Brothers over Murphy's death in December 2009. Monjack told The Daily Beast in an interview that he believes Murphy died of a heart attack from the stress caused by Warner Brothers. Murphy was fired from the sequel of "Happy Feet." Two weeks later she died. A little money hungry, eh?
  • Abercrombie & Fitch Co. has sued singer Beyonce Knowles, saying her plan for a fragrance named after her alter ego, Sasha Fierce, violates the teen clothing retailer's trademark. The chain, which has sold a men's fragrance called Fierce since 2002, wants a court to order Knowles to abandon the plan. Just ANOTHER reason why I hate Abercrombie...
  • A woman named Paula Kohl is suing former "American Idol" host Paula Abdul, claiming she fell while walking down Abdul's driveway during a taping of Abdul's reality show "Hey Paula." In a lawsuit filed March 3, 2009 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Kohl claims she fell because the property "was in a dangerous and defective condition." She is seeking damages in excess of $25,000. That's called being clumsy, not walking on dangerous conditions. It's a millionaire's house, it  can't be that bad, right?
